How to play Verse vs Verse

A beat plays, your bars scroll past, and every bar ends on a word you have to land on. Rap it, then listen back with your friends and vote on who did it best.

1. Start a lobby

Open the game, pick your character and press Create. You get a four-character lobby code. Click the code to copy a link and send it to your friends. Up to 8 players can join one lobby, and everyone can talk over voice chat the whole time.

2. Pick a game mode

3. Set up the round

Whoever won the last round runs the next one (the lobby's host does before anyone has won). They choose:

Then everyone who wants to rap presses Ready. Anyone who'd rather watch can sit out and still vote.

4. Rap your bars

After a countdown and a two-bar count-in, the beat starts. Your bars scroll up the screen in rows of four beats, and the cell that lights up shows where you are in the bar. The last beat of every bar holds a prompt word. Your job is to end the bar on it. The first few bars are an intro where everyone raps at once, then the turns begin.

Your whole battle is recorded on your own device and stitched together with your opponent's afterwards, so you won't hear their verse while you rap. On a computer, wear headphones so the beat doesn't leak into your mic.

5. Listen back and vote

When the beat ends, the game mixes every rapper's bars into one track, and the whole lobby plays it back together. While it plays, tap 🔥 on any bar that hit. After it ends, the players who weren't rapping vote for the best verse.

A vote is worth 5 points, each 🔥 is worth 1, and the single most-🔥'd bar of the round is worth 5 more. Then the next battle begins.
