Rap battle your friends online
Verse vs Verse is a multiplayer rap battle game. Send your friends a link, take turns spitting over the same beat, then listen back together and vote on who won.
START A BATTLEGet your friends in
Press Create and you get a lobby with a four-character code. Click the code to copy a link, drop it in your group chat, and anyone who opens it lands in your lobby. Up to 8 players fit in one lobby, with voice chat built in, so you can talk trash between rounds without a separate call.
The battle
Two rappers go head to head over one beat, trading turns: a few bars each, back and forth, for as long as the round lasts. Every bar ends on a rhyming prompt word you have to land on, so nobody gets to fall back on a verse they wrote earlier. It's pure freestyle.
While the rappers are on, the rest of the lobby watches the bars scroll by live. Each rapper records on their own device and the game stitches the turns together into one track.
Play it back, then vote
The whole lobby listens to the finished battle at the same moment. Tap 🔥 on bars that land, and when the beat ends, everyone who wasn't rapping votes for a winner. Votes, 🔥 and the round's best bar all add to the score. The winner stays on to face the next challenger in line, and the loser goes to the back. Nobody's ever out.
More ways to battle
- Verse Royale: everyone raps every round, and the lowest scorer is knocked out each time until one is left standing.
- Free For All: everyone raps every round, and a running leaderboard decides it.
- Solo: no opponent, just you and the beat, for practice.
Why it's fun
Nobody's a pro, and that's the point. Trying to land on "prostate" with your friends listening is a different kind of pressure, and the playback is where the laughs are: everyone hears exactly what you said when the word came up. Save the best battles to replay later, or download them to send around.
What you need
- A browser on a computer or a phone. Nothing to install.
- A microphone. On a computer, headphones too, so the beat doesn't leak into your mic.
- Friends who are up for it.
