Cookie Policy
Verse vs Verse · Effective October 28, 2026
The short version: we don’t set cookies of our own. The game stores a few things on your device that it needs to work. The free version’s ads, from Google, use cookies; owning the full game removes the ads and those cookies with them.
What the game stores on your device
These are kept in your browser’s or app’s local storage, not in cookies, and never leave your device except as the game needs (for example, your device ID is sent to the game server so a lobby recognises you). They’re needed for the game to work, so they don’t need your consent.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| A random device ID | So a lobby recognises you when you reconnect |
| Seat keys | Prove a lobby seat is yours, so nobody else can take it |
| Your sign-in session | Keeps you signed in, if you have an account |
| Your settings | Name, character, volumes, mic level, vocal effects, visualizer, blocked players |
| Saved battles and added songs | So you can play them back later |
| Playtest code | Only if you entered one |
| Twitch connection | Only if you connected Twitch: its sign-in and your chat settings |
| The game’s files | The website saves its own files so it loads fast and can be installed as an app |
Usage statistics
We use PostHog to see how the game is played (see the Privacy Policy). It is set up to store nothing on your device: no cookies and no local storage.
Cookies from other services
| Service | When | What for |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdSense | The free version, on versevsverse.app | Showing and measuring ads, and personalising them where you allow it. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google asks for your consent first. |
| Google AdMob | The free version, in the iOS app | The same, using your device’s advertising identifier only if you allow tracking when the app asks. |
| Sign in with Google / Apple | Only when you use them | Signing you in, on Google’s or Apple’s own pages and buttons. |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | The sign-in screen | Telling people from bots, to protect accounts. |
| Stripe | Stripe’s checkout page, when you buy | Processing the payment and preventing fraud. |
Those cookies are set and controlled by those companies under their own policies, not by us.
Your choices
- Buy the full game and the ads, and their cookies, go away.
- Manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com, and in Google’s consent message where it’s shown.
- In the iOS app: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Your browser’s settings can block or clear cookies and site data. Clearing the game’s site data signs you out and resets your settings, device ID and saved battles.
